Xuan paper lamp collection / 2025



“AN” (安) means calm. The series explores a sense of stillness through the interaction of light with the delicate texture of paper. Shaped into soft, rounded forms, the pieces evoke calm and harmony, allowing the concept to come full circle. At the heart of the collection is traditional Chinese Xuan paper, valued for its delicate strength and natural texture, and long used in calligraphy and ink painting. The organic texture of the fibers creates a subtle, shifting pattern of shadows and halftones in interaction with light, filtering brightness to reveal the essence of it. The light does not dominate but settles softly, creating a calm, meditative atmosphere that invites rest and ease.
